We’ve all got tons of work to do in California, with 4 major reports due at the end of May, for the 5th largest economy in the world, and the largest to enact EPR. The good news is, you actually have until Monday June 1 at midnight PST, because May 31 is a Sunday!

Maine hasn’t picked their Stewardship Organization yet. Word is the RFP is held up in the Office of Information Technology. (The state’s portion of the program is more complex than other states because the SO won’t handle the money, the state will).
However, statutory deadlines, including reporting 2026 data and paying 2027 fees, still apply. The best move is to start getting ready because when it happens, it will happen fast.

Oregon is effectively the first EPR state, with a fairly well developed structure at this point, and into their second year of collecting fees with CAA as their PRO.
